Citron Lace Knitted Shawl

Happy New Year 2011!!!

I have not been on for quiet some time since I have been able to post. Here is an update on the citron shawl finally!

Started: August 1, 2010
Finished: November, 28, 2010

The original citron shawl below that I did in Noro yarn I took it apart. I didn't like the way it. The yarn I decided to use - Araucania - it was given to me - Thank you TB!!!-

I added extra rows at the bottom of the shawl to give it length. I then added some beads to enhance it.

Finish - took it apart - didn't like the way it looked

Update July 25 -I have not made a knitted lace shawl...a lot of yarn overs and counting. I really liked this shawl so I decided to challenge myself to make it, at the same time read the pattern. It took me about 5 tries before I got this far. Once it is finished I will block it. I will post a new photo once it is done and once it is blocked.

The yarn I am using is Noro- the world of nature - Color no. S245 - Silk Garden sock yarn. I got this yarn from a wonderful lady by the name of TB, she gave me a white trash bag full of high quality yarn last year. She was cleaning out her stash..
Thank you TB!!! =)

My first sock I ever made...

Started August 12, 2009
Finished August 24, 2009

I had the opprotunity to be taught how to make a sock about ten years ago. I was to intimidated to make one and just was not ready.

However, timing is everything. One night at the shop I work at had a weaving demo.

I debated many times to learn - not to learn. Finally the best won out. I learned how to cast onto 4 needles and from there I challeneged myself to make a sock. I watched demos, etc. and learned watching a person on you tube, (like 20 times) she knitted way too fast. I just couldn’t wait two weeks to learn the heel and Gosset. I basically with trial and erros to learn how to make a sock on my ownl, with a help of a freind who taught me to cast on.

Of all things, I ever made, I did impress myself on how to make a sock. =-)

Ribbed Baby Hat & Booties

Started April 4, 2010
Finished April 5, 2010

I wanted to make a 6 month old baby hat with one skein of yarn.
This would have been done in one day, but it took me and extra day.

Here are the booties that match the hat...

Pink Felted Bag

Finished April 4, 2010
Started March 25, 2010

Here is the finished piece. This felted bag has pockets in it as well...

I then matched the material to make a lining for the felted bag. I also added my name to it.

Once the I finished knitting the I-Cord and the body of the bag. I washed it in hot water. Once the cycle was done I took it out and stuffed the felted bag with newspapers and let it dry.

I then made the I-Cord (straps)

I started making the body of the felted bag first with a sold color rouge by Louet Riverstone. I accented it with some ribbon Dazzle yarn

Purple Felted Bag

May 2010
I have been working on this purple felted bag for a month. I finished the lining about 3 weeks ago. All I have to do is add a large snap button for a closure, and embellish the outside with a felted flower.
This is the third felted bag I ever made.

Baby Cardigan - Bear Hugs by Plymouth yarn

Completed - Feb. 24, 2010

Okay, here are all the pieces of the baby cardigan. I am almost done, and I might be done before mid week! I am happy with this little piece. I am not sure if I read the instructions correctly, but I am still pleased for my first baby cardigan (using a pattern). I am hoping to put the pieces and edging on late tonight.

Update on baby cardigan sweater - Finished one sleeve and started the other sleeve.

Here is what the finished pieces look like before they are put together. I am hoping to be done with this by mid week. Once the sleeves are done. I will be edging the baby cardigan. I am almost done with one of the other baby blankets I started around the same time.

Update on the baby cardigan sweater - Finished the back, Left front,Right front.

I have been working on this sweater late, late in the evenings. I finally finished the fronts of the cardigan. It is late so I will go for now and will keep you updated.

update on the Baby Cardigan Sweater - Back, Left Front

I have been busy, so I have not been able to finish this cute sweater. I did however, finish the left front of the cardigan, and starting the right front of the cardigan. I just have to remind myself to reverse the neckline. I should have had this done a week ago. I just might have it done this week..crossing fingers.
=-)

Started Feb 22,2010 - Update on the Baby Cardigan Sweater - Back part

I finished the back of the pink caridgan sweater this evening.
I knitted the back 10 inches long and ended it with the wrong side. I then casted off loosely (bind off).

I started to the left front of the sweater. I am using size US 7 signle point needles for the first 6 rows ending with the wrong side. I will switch up to the US 8single point needls, and will continue the knit/garter stitch for 5 1/2 inches ending with the right side row.

Once I finish the left front I will up date you on the shaping the neck of the sweater. I am using a pattern so I am making it slow..

I have been knitting and crocheting since I was 9 years old, that I can remember. However, my mom might say I have started at an ealier age than that, she would know she and my grandmother taught me. I was taught by looking at a finished knitted and/or finished crochet piece. I was not taught to read a pattern, so patterns are a little difficult for me. I know some terms, but putting it all together is so confusing to me, just let me look at the finished product and let me figure it out from there! *laughing*

I am attempting to read a pattern and make a baby cardigan sweater. I am using Plymouth yarn - Bear Hugs -

I am starting with the back first - I cast on 40 stitch on a size US 7 knitting needle and doing a garter stitch for 6 rows. I will then switch up to a US 8 knitting needle for the next 9 1/2 inches.

I will keep you updated. Let me know how you think I am doing. I want to learn and teach myself how to read patterns to improve that technique and challenge myself in that area!

Happy Knitting until next time!

Men's Scarf

Hello!! I have not posted in some time. I have a handful of orders to finish and i will try to post them as each one is done.

Here is a scarf that I made for a gentleman. I used 2 skiens of Patons - Classic Wool Merino yarn. I will wash it and block it.

This is the basic knit and purl.
